Ajwain or Carom Seeds has a mint like taste with oregano like bitterness. These seeds when used along with other spices, imparts a powerful statement and has the ability to overwhelm other ingredients due to its dominant and strong flavor. For this reason, it should also be used in small amounts while cooking. While preparing Indian dishes, it is used in parathas or as a key ingredient in tadka for the Indian curries. Carom Seeds resembles to jeera seeds but are smaller in length.
